Blueberry Hugs

Blueberry is still alive and kicking. Hard to believe she will be 14 in a a few short months.

I started her on CBD oil for some restlessness at night. Either pain or early signs of dementia. Either way it seems to be helping.

Pistachio is still hibernating and we now have a squirrel that likes hanging out in our yard. I call her Nutmeg. Blueberry enjoys watching her sun herself on top of the fence. Blueberry dreams of one day capturing the squirrel.

  3. It's great to see you again Blueberry! I hope you catch that squirrel. I still like to chase squirrels, but I've been slowing down lately. Say hello to Pistachio when he wakes up!

  4. Aww she looks good. We use cbd on our elderly greyhound who is a similar age. Also a streamz collar and green lipped mussel supplement! Have to do what we can as they get older

    1. I haven’t heard of a streamz collar. I do give her Bonnie and Clyde fish oil, green lipped mussel powder and I make her turmeric paste as well- all for her hip issues. Other than the bit of nocturnal restlessness she’s really holding up well for a dog of her age. :)

  5. I should add I also haven’t given her kibble for a while now. I stick with THK, Steve’s Real food and Open Farm. And I stick with one ingredient treats (duck feet, rabbit ears, etc) . She loves the variety!

  6. It’s a sort of magnetic device for dogs horses and humans. I’ve had one myself for quite a while and it’s helped hugely with stiff finger joints. I’m all for trying natural supportive things where possible. Sounds like a good diet. We feed raw although I buy it ready prepared. He has had a growth on one of his anal glands for probably at least a year now and we were told operating was not really advisable so we are just giving him supportive care really. It doesn’t seem to have grown at a huge rate and otherwise he seems just like most elderly dogs..he has been kind since he was four and the worst thing we’ve observed is his internal sat nav seems a bit off..he has very creaky joints but still wants to go out and appetite is same as ever. So we take each day as it comes ..he has barely any teeth so anything crunchy or chewy sadly isn’t for him !

    1. I will look into that collar. It can be challenging to care for elderly pets and make sure they are comfortable, but as I am sure you know, it’s a labor of love.
